Americans Joyner and Boag overpowered opponents

 

PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic, September 13, 2019 – Men’s teams of USA and Canada breezed past their opponents each getting two victories in the opening day at the Punta Cana Beach Volleyball Tournament, the sixth stop of the 2019 NORCECA Circuit.

 

Playing in Pool C, the Americans Brandon Joyner and Michael Boag beat Curtney Germaine and Tevin St Jean of St Lucia 2-0 (21-9, 21-11) and then came back to crush Anguilla’s Calivon Vanterpool and Da’Qwan Fredericks 2-0 (21-0, 21-4).

 

In Pool D, Canadians Jake MacNeil and Liam Kopp dispatched Gillan Octave and Augustin Faulkner of Str Vincent and The Grenadines 2-0 (21-12, 21-17) and Ronaldo Franklyn and Asmond Franklyn of St Lucia 2-0 (21-17, 21-16).

 

In their only matches of Friday, Mexico’s Josué Gaxiola and Jose Luis Rubio won over Daryl Franklyn and Delshun Welcome of St Vincent and The Grenadines 2-0 (21-15, 21-11) in Pool A while  Nicaragua’s Rubén Mora and Denis López won 2-0 (21-15, 21-14) over Martinique’s Martel Bosqui and Brice Hardy-Dessources.
