Andy Leonardo wins second Men’s AFECAVOL MVP Award


SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, November 16, 2018.- Opposite Andy Leonardo was named the Most Valuable Player to lead Guatemala’s unbeaten title at the twentieth Men’s AFECAVOL Central American Championship at FESAVOL gymnasium of San Salvador, El Salvador.


This is the second occasion that Andy Leonardo wins the AFECAVOL Men’s Senior MVP Award; his first was in the seventieth edition of the event when Guatemala hosted the tournament.


Leonardo also received the awards as Best Opposite and Best Server during the closing ceremony.


From the silver medalists Costa Rica, Alberto Blanco was recognized as the Second Best Outside Hitter, Japheth Reid received the Second Best Middle Blocker award and Luis Gutierrez the award for Best Setter.


Bronze medalists Diego Guidos and Rodrigo Chavez of El Salvador were the First Best Middle Blocker and the Best Receiver accordingly.


From Belize, Francis Hauze received the trophy for First Best Oustide Hitter and Karym Coleman the award of Best Scorer with a total of 140 points.


Panama’s Miguel Medina was granted the awards of Best Libero and Best Digger.
