Barbados finishes preliminaries without dropping a set

 

PARAMARIBO, Suriname, April 3, 2018 - Barbados finished the preliminary round with a perfect record of four (4) three sets to zero (3-0) matches at the CAZOVA U21 Men Championship in Paramaribo, Suriname.  Barbados easily rolled passed the team with the third best record in the tournament, to set up a gold medal match with the team that pushed them the most in the tournament opener, Haiti. Haiti has improved a lot along the way and the match is expected to be a classic one.

 

Barbados won the match 3 sets to 0 (25-21, 25-17 and 25-10) in one hour and seven minutes.

 

Barbados had more winners, 75 to Martinique’s 48 with Barbados having committed more errors, 31 to Martiniques’s 22.

 

Lohan Lafaivre of Martinique was the game’s top scorer with 14 points (13 Spikes and 1 Block)

 

Ashe Oxley was Barbados’ top scorer with 8 points (7 Spikes and 1 Aces)
