Bayron Valdez scores 26 in Dominican victory over Peru

 

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 22, 2017 – Bayron Valdez amassed 26 points, including four blocks and two aces, as the Dominican Republic registered a straight-set 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-17) victory over Peru at the U19 Boys’ Volleyball Pan American Cup.

 

Dominican Frantony Segura tallied 10 in the victory while Peruvian captain Konrad Linder scored 16, with two aces and three blocks.

 

Captain of Dominican Republic, Adalberto Gonzalez: “Thanks God this was a very good match as we feel glad for this win as a team we are 1-1 and look forward to advance”.

 

Captain of Peru, Konrad Linder: “We tried to play our game and were very close in the first two against a very good team like Dominican Republic.”

 

Coach of Peru: Edwin Jimenez: “We have been commanding for most of the sets, we were up in the score, showing our skills and abilities, building plays, serving. That helped us but it was not enough.”

 

Coach of Dominican Republic, Loren Rodriguez: “The boys put into practice everything they learned from the first match we played here at the cup, we corrected mistakes and played very well.”
