Belize to host AFECAVOL World Championship Qualifier

BELIZE CITY, Belize, September 22, 2016. - The road to the FIVB Men´s World Championship 2018 for the Central American Volleyball Association AFECAVOL zone will be hosted in the City of Belize, serving off on Saturday September 22 at the St. Catherine Academy Multipurpose Center.

From this qualification round, the top two national teams in the final ranking will advance to the NORCECA Continental Championship that will grant five spots to the FIVB 2018 Men World Championship to be jointly held in Italy and Bulgaria.

Costa Rica as AFECAVOL champion is directly qualified to the Continental Championship, meaning that Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and Dominican Republic will be battling for the two spots in dispute.

Member of the NORCECA control committee arrived to Belize on Thursday for several inspections and final details concerning the competition. The preliminary inquiry and general technical meeting will be held at the Radisson Hotel on Friday and the round robin competition runs from September 24-30.
