Big Alba Hernández MVP Week 8 in PR

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, March 19, 2019 - Trujillo Alto's Amazonas center, Alba Hernández had two sensational offensive and defensive performances that made her the Most Valuable Player of Week 8 of the Puerto Rican Women's Superior Volleyball League.

Hernandez accumulated 37 points including 12 blocks in the two games his team played over the weekend against the Criollas de Caguas. That included the nine 'walls' achieved last Friday, March 15, for the highest total by any player in the current season.

The tall center of the national team went up to second place in the blocking department with 62.

Hernandez was also part of the ideal team of the week as central, along with Diana Reyes (Criollas de Caguas).

 The wing spikers are Karina Ocasio (Caguas) and Vanessa Vélez (Trujillo Alto), the setter is Wilmarie Rivera (Trujillo Alto), the opposite, Andrea Rangel (Changas de Naranjito) and the libero, Debora Seilhamer (Chicks of Aibonito).
