China beats Dominican Republic 3-1 in FIVB League 

RIMINI, Italy, June 13, 2021 - China snapped the Dominican Republic's three-game winning streak by prevailing 3-1 (25-14, 25-20, 19-25, 25-22) in a women's volleyball match of the FIVB Nations League. 

 

Both teams now have a records of 6 wins and 5 losses with four games left to play. China improved to 16-1 in head-to-head matches against Dominican Republic in FIVB competitions. 

 

The Chinese established a clear dominance on the net where they overwhelmed the Dominicans in blocks 18-3. 

 

China captain Thu Ting was the best scorer of the winners with 16 points. Changning Zhang followed with 14 and Xinyue Yuan and Xiangyu Gong contributed 11 and 10, respectively. 

 

For the Dominican Republic, Captain Prisilla Rivera led all scorers in the match with 20 points, followed by Yonkaira Peña with 17 and Jineiry Martínez with 13. 

 

On Monday, the Dominican Republic meets the Netherlands while China plays against Italy.
