Coaches Course held in Santiago


SANTIAGO, Dominican Republic, March 14, 2019 – The Volleyball Association of Santiago, in collaboration with the NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Center in the Dominican Republic, and the support with the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, organized over the week-end a course for coaches, referees, line-judges and scoring.

 

The course for Coaches Level II directed by Dominican Wilson Sanchez assisted by Venezuelan Alexander Gutierrez was attended by 35 participants.

 

Sanchez is the assistant coach of Marcos Kwiek in the women’s national team of Dominican Republic while Gutiérrez is coaching the men’s squad.

 

The intensive course for coaches, line judges and scorers was addressed by instructors Salvador Bautista, member of the NORCECA Refereeing Commission, and Bienvenido Mateo, Statistic Supervisor.

 

The closing ceremony was presided over by Nelson Ramirez, director of the Regional Development Center who encouraged the participants to work with the young athletes and scorers and referees taking part in the different tournaments organized by the association of Santiago and the Dominican Federation.

 

The participants received certificates from the Development Center, the Dominican Federation and the Santiago Association.
