Coaches comment about winning chances in CAZOVA U21

PARAMARIBO, Suriname, March 31, 2018 –The coaches of the five teams competing at the CAZOVA Men’s U21 Tournament made comments about their sides and expectations for the event.

Barbados is the defending champions and their coach John Stuart hopes to retain the title with strong competition coming from Trinidad & Tobago and Haiti.

Trinidad & Tobago – Sean Morrison: “We are looking forward to being consistent. I have only been working with his team for the last five (5) weeks but we are looking forward to the event and would be satisfied with a podium performance. We really believe that my athletes are good enough to go all the way. I expect a strong challenge from Haiti and the host Suriname. With all of that being said we would be taking the tournament one game at a time.”

Barbados – John Stuart: “We are extremely happy that this event is actually coming off. We believe we have a decent chance to retain our title. Barbados has a good record in this tournament and as Champions, everyone will be coming at us. We have to respect everyone and watch them closely, in two (2) years lots of development could have taken place for instant our youth libero is now a spiker here.”

Martinique – Jimmy Mondessir: “Our goal is to be among the finalist. It won’t be easy and every team has a good chance. I believe the games will be tight. Our team is new with very young players.”

Haiti – Ralph Adolphe: “We came here expecting nothing less than to be champions. Our players are good. We believe our main challenge is the team from Trinidad and Tobago, as our last match with them was very close. We are very happy and thankful to everyone that ensured that we are here.”

Suriname – Casey Foe-a-man: “Our team have suffered two (2) blows in the last couple of days; our Captain and Libero lost their respective grandfathers. We over our condolences to them and I am hoping I can motivate them to give it their best in the circumstance. We will give what we have to give. Everybody came to win. We welcome all the delegations to our beautiful country.”
