Dominican Republic and Colombia begin

a training camp in Baja California, Mexico

 

   

TIJUANA, Mexico, December 29, 2015 - The Baja California High Performance Center has become an important site for national teams in their preparation to the qualifying process in the road to the Olympic Games of Rio de Janeiro 2016.

 

This week prior to New Year’s Eve, the teams of Colombia and Dominican Republic began a concentration prior to the Olympic Qualifier tournaments in their respective continental confederations.

 

The Dominican team, whose players and coaches are already well known in the region for their protagonic role during Pan Am Cups and Continental Championships, expect to get their best of this training camp as the NORCECA competition that gives one ticket to Rio 2016 nears.

 

Meanwhile Colombia, which is slowly gaining notoriety in both the Pan American Cup tournament and after participating at the FIVB Grand Prix in 2015, will also prepare and work hard in this training camp to work towards the Pre-Olympic competition organized by the South American Volleyball Confederation (CSV).

 

The NORCECA qualifier will take place from January 7 to January 9 in the city of Lincoln, Nebraska, United States, where along with the hosts and the Dominican team Canada and Puerto Rico will play.

 

The South American Olympic Qualifying tournament will be held from January 6 to  January 10 in the city of Bariloche, Argentina, where a "round robbin" will be held between five teams. Along with Colombia and Argentina, Chile, Peru and Venezuela will compete at this event.
