DURANGO, Mexico, September 22, 2021 – Dominican
Republic won a battle against Peru 3-1 (18-25,
25-22, 25-21, 25-23) at the U18 FIVB Girls’
World Championship on Wednesday.
Ariana Rodriguez and Crismeily Rodriguez had 14
and 11 points, respectively, as the top
Dominican scorers. Alondra Tapia added 9 points,
including two blocks, in the victory.
Alondra Alarcón and María Cisneros scored 19 and
17 points for a Peruvian side that committed 39
unforced errors.
In another match on Wednesday, United States
defeated Romania 3-1 (25-21, 25-11, 18-25,
25-16).
Margaret Mendelson finished with 18 points as
one of five Americans who finished the match
with double figures in the charts. Harper Murray
and Devin Kahahawai added 15 and 11,
respectively, while McKenna Wucherer and Rebekah
Allick each contributed 10 points in the
victory. |
