Bethania de la Cruz, Captain of Dominican Republic: “It was a very important victory for us against a strong team like Canada. Today’s game help us to prepare for the next two matches also against two strong sides like Cuba and Peru.”

Lucille Charuk, Captain of Canada: “To win against a strong team like Dominican Republic we have to play at our best level and that was not the case today. We need to minimize errors and today we made too many.”

Marcos Kwiek, Coach of Dominican Republic: “Our serve, which is one of the strongest part of our game worked better today. We have to improve our blocking and defense. Today I had the chance to use different formations to test some players.”

Marcello Abbondanza, Coach of Peru: “It has been a very strange tournament as I have lost three players with injuries. Our target today was to improve and I am upset because we didn’t. Our goal is to take the next step in the right direction.”
