Dominicans visit Mizuno Corporation in Osaka

OSAKA, Japan, September 25, 2019 – The Dominican Republic Women’s National Team paid a courtesy visit to the main headquarters of Mizuno Corporation in Osaka where they were received by the president of the company Mr. Akito Mizuno.

The welcome ceremony the “Queens of the Caribbean” took place in the meeting room of Crystal Building Mizuno on the occasion of the participation of the Dominican team in the final stage of the FIVB Women’s World Cup in Osaka.

Mr. Mizuno, a member of the third generation of the corporation founded in 1906 by Rihachi & Rizo Mizuno, offered warm words of reception to the Dominican delegation.

“It is very pleasant for us to receive for the first time in our offices one volleyball team and we are very proud that it is the successful team of Dominican Republic, to which we wish all the success in that race toward the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, where we hope to provide all the support as we have been doing for years. In Mizuno we are very proud to be part of your triumphs,” Mr. Mizuno said.

Representing the members of the team, the player Niverka Marte pronounced a few words to in accepting a souvenir as a memento of the visit to the Crystal Building Mizuno.

“On behalf of the Dominican Republic’s volleyball, our team and of Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, president of the women’s program of the federation we want to express our appreciation for your support throughout the years providing first class apparel to all the teams that represents the volleyball of our country at international level.

The Dominicans conclude their participation in the World Cup with matches against Argentina, Netherlands and Serbia, starting on Friday morning.
