Dominicans win twice in opening day at AAU event

 

ORLANDO, Florida, June 24, 2017- The Dominican Republic U20 Women’s Volleyball Team scored two opening day victories over Slovenia and Germany at the AAU Open International Tournament on Friday.

 

The Dominican team is preparing to defend the crown in the FIVB U20 Women’s World Championship to be held in Veracruz, Mexico next month.

 

Playing in Pool A, the Dominicans first defeated Slovenia 2-0 (25-10, 25-17) and then beat Germany 2-0 (25-9, 25-10).

 

“I am satisfied with this kind of start and especially with the chance to play some international matches before we play in the world championship”, Ceccato said. “I hope we can continue playing well and working hard.”

 

Ceccato is assisted by Cristian Cruz and the delegate is Agripina Martinez, Ruben Andisin is the physiotherapist.

 

The members of the team are Yokaty Perez, Camila de la Rosa and Hennesys Lalane as setters, Lisbeth Rosario and Geraldine Gonzalez as middle-blockers, Mesalina Yosil, Samareth Caraballo, Madeline Guillen and Yaneiris Rodriguez as outside hitters, Vielka Peralta and Yanlis Feliz as opposites and Pamela Jorge as libero.
