Dr. Trabanco confirmed as President of Puerto Rican Federation

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, September 20, 2016 – Dr. Cesar Trabanco was confirmed as the new president of the Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation after a meeting held at the premises of the institution.

Dr. Trabanco, a medical doctor, had the support of 11 out of 18 members of the Board of Directors after the withdrawal of the candidature of Elliot Matias, who was the vice president of the organization. With no other candidates, the elections were not necessary.

“We are going to work to get back our sport to the place that it corresponds. It is a major task considering the economic situation of the country but we will roll up our sleeves together with the group that will accompany me to work in favor of the Puerto Rican volleyball,” said Trabanco after being confirmed.

The other members of the Executive Committee are Dr. Anthony Melendez as First Vice President, Anivette Rodriguez, General Secretary, and Cesar Muñiz, Treasurer. Besides, Leyre Santaella was announced as supervisor of the Men’s League.

Dr. Trabanco will serve as President until August 2020 when new elections will take place in the Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation.
