FIVB President praises Dominican victory

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, June 20, 2016 – FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça  congratulated NORCECA President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz for the victory attained by the Dominican Republic at the FIVB World Grand Prix Group 2 Finals in Varna, Bulgaria on Sunday.

In a letter from Lausanne, Switzerland, the FIVB President expressed his delight after watching the impressive result achieved by the Dominican team against such strong opponent like Poland.

After losing the first two sets of the gold medal match, the Dominicans reacted to win the next three to cap a series of impressive outings at the Grand Prix Group 2.

Three of the Dominican victories were extended to the maximum five sets including triumphs in the preliminary round over Argentina and Czech Republic.

“All your tireless effort over the last 20 years have been now rewarded with the Dominican Republic moving to Group 1 for 2017,” Dr Graça wrote.

The President of FIVB encouraged Marte Hoffiz to continue the good work and enthusiasm in favor of the progress of volleyball in the Dominican Republic and the NORCECA Confederation.
