Final Series in Santo Domingo stretched to decisive match

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, May 4, 2018 – Lisvel Eve and Prisilla Rivera blasted 25 and 21 points, respectively, to lead Caribeñas to an emotional five-set victory 3-2 (25-14, 25-17, 23-25, 25-27, 15-12) over Cristo Rey on Friday night.

 

The victory of Caribeñas forced a fifth and decisive contest on Sunday in the best-of-five final series of the Women’s Volleyball Superior League organized by the National District Volleyball Association of Santo Domingo.

 

Annerys Vargas and Vielka Peralta contributed 17 and 10 points in the victory after 2 hours and 26 minutes of hard battle.

 

Marianne Fersola led the losers with 17 points, Madeline Guillen and Marifranchi Rodriguez each had 12 points while Geraldine Gonzalez and Ana Ligia Fabian added 11 and 10, respectively.

 

Cristo Rey held slight advantages of 17-16 in blocks and 4-3 in aces but Caribeñas dominated heavily in attacks 66-48.
