Five NORCECA teams per gender to play at YOG in Buenos Aires

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, June 10, 2017 – Five NORCECA teams of each gender will be granted berths to the beach volleyball tournament of the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

One team per gender will come out from each qualification tournament organized by the zones OF Central America (AFECAVOL), Caribbean (CAZOVA) and Eastern Caribbean (ECVA). Two teams per gender will qualify from the North and Central zone.

The age limit for the Youth Olympic Games is between 14 to 18 years-old so the years of birth should be between 2000 and 2004.

The tournament of AFECAVOL will take place in Costa Rica from March 2 to 5 of 2018 while the ECVA event will be in Antigua & Barbuda from May 4 to 7.

The event of NCVA will be from July 6 to 9 in Havana, Cuba while the CAZOVA event will take place on the same dates in a country to be determined.

The proposal made by Indhira Ramirez, beach volleyball director of NORCECA, was discussed and approved by the Board of Administration on Saturday morning in the second day of its annual meeting in Santo Domingo.
