Four teams to compete at Challenger Cups starting in 2019
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, May 27, 2018 – The NORCECA
Challenger Cup to the FIVB Nations League will be contested by
four teams per gender starting in 2019 instead of the six-team
format used this year.
The NORCECA Executive Committee and Board of Administration
approved the proposal to change the competition format presented
by Cuban Ariel Sainz, president of the Sport Organization
Commission on Sunday.
Those four teams would be the top ranked teams –not qualified to
the FIVB League of Nations- according to the NORCECA Ranking as
of January 1 of every year.
The teams will arrive to the hosting country on Wednesday to
leave on Sunday after competing under a round-robin system. |
