Gray named MVP of NORCECA Women’s Challenger

CHATEAUGUAY, Canada, June 2, 2019 – Alexa Gray of Canada was named the Most Valuable Player of the NORCECA Qualification Tournament to the FIVB Challenge Cup for the 2020 Volleyball League of Nations won by her team.

Gray was the second best scorer of the tournament and also tied for first in blocks. Fellow Canadians Kiera Van Ryk was the best scorer and first outside hitter while Megan Cyr was the best server.

Puerto Ricans Neira Ortiz and Ana Sofia Jusino received plaques as first and second middle blockers, Pilar Victoria was the second best outside hitter, Stephanie Enright the best digger, Paulina Prieto the best opposite and Nomaris Velez, the best libero.

Mexicans Sansay Sashiko was the best setter and Lisbeth Sainz the best receiver.
