Greenidge and Lee bag MVP Awards
ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, April 20, 2014 - Nikita Greenidge and Amoy
Lee of title winners St Lucia and Antigua were named the Girls’
and Boys’ Most Valuable Players in the Eastern Caribbean
Volleyball Association (ECVA) Youth Championships here.
Greendige was elected as member of the girls’ All-Star team of
the female segment as Middle Blocker along with Amadah Sylves of
French St Martin.
Tia Walker (ANT) and Bedelya Hunte (FSM) were the two Outside
Hitters while Jayda Hunte (LCA) was the Opposite Player. Skye
Mondesir, captain of St Lucia, was the choice as Setter and
teammate Juanita Brown took the spot as Best Libero.
Mondesir was also the Best Server of the female event, but
Shernell Browne of St Vincent had the most trophies wearing down
her slender hands as she claimed the honors as Best Scorer, Best
Receiver and Best Digger.
Among the boys, the All- Star consisted of Shevron Cain (VIN) as
Setter, Asmond Franklyn (VIN) and Alfred Gileat (ANT), Outside
Hitters, Meneleck Amacin (FSM) and Marcus Thomas (VIN) as Middle
Blockers, Andre Marquis (LCA), Opposite Player, and Jad Martin (VIN),
Libero.
Other boys awarded at the closing ceremony were: Franklyn (VIN)
as Best Scorer, Deshaun Welcome (VIN) as Best Server, Martin (VIN)
as Best Receiver, and Didier Noach (LCA) as Best Digger. |
