PANAMA CITY, Panama, October 20, 2017 - Guatemala won 3-1 (22-25, 25-22, 25-18, 26-24) over Nicaragua to  start off the second day of the XII Central American U19 Championship of Men's volleyball this Friday in Panama.

In spite of losing the first set 22-25, Guatemala managed to come back with effective attacks in zone 4, especially with Kevin Hoil, who obtained 24 points, and 17 of David Ismalej. Meanwhile, by Nicaragua Josué Cano achieved 25 and Marcial Sandoval had 18.

Nicaragua outscored 49-42, 8-6 and 6-1, but had more errors with 49 by 26 of their opponents.

Edgar Callejas, coach of Guatemala: "Today they saw very long rallies for both teams, we did not know to preserve the leads, I think in this category they can not manage the rhythm of the match. The team of Nicaragua is good fighter and sometimes we were complicated, but it is normal, you have to gain experience.

Osman Hernandez, coach of Nicaragua: "In the end they wanted to get up, but it was too late. It is part of this category, that instability, since we lost by up to six points, we tied, but again went up the other team. I think it's a lack of maturity, but it's normal in this category.
