Guatemala seeks the Tri U21 Championship in Puerto Cortés

PUERTO CORTÉS, Honduras. November 1, 2018.- The Men's Tournament of the XI Central American U21 Beach Volleyball Championship that takes place in Puerto Cortés, Honduras, from October 31 to November 4 is ready to start with games from Friday.

With the registration of the participants during the preliminary interviews conducted by José Luis Jiménez Lao, by Afecavol, the presence of 10 couples was confirmed, representing five countries of the region, except Panama.

Criforth Fallas and Alexandre Lezcano (CRC 1) compete for Costa Rica, who won the Afecavol tie for the Youth Olympic Games in Argentina recently, in addition to Allan Obando / Andrés Valenciano (CRC 2).

Guatemala was a two-time champion last year with Wagner Chacón and Erick Flores, only this time Chacón will have Edgard Maldonado (GUA 1) as his partner to try to get the "tri".

Nicaragua has Denis Lopez / Jefferson Cascante (NCA 1) who were vice champions last year in Puerto Jimenez, Costa Rica, and Adonis Cascante / Sergio Cordero (NCA 2). For Belize will play Joseph Carnegie and Aldair Peña.

The locals will have Adonis Rodriguez / Irvin Reyes (HON 1), along with Kenny Fernández / Kevin Herrera. El Salvador is introducing brothers Yoel and Diego Guardado (ESA 1), as well as Diego Ascencio / Rolando Ávalos.

It will be played in two groups of five, advancing the best two of each group to the semifinal that will be played 1A versus 2B and 1B against 2A. The final will be held next Sunday.

The games will start at 9:00 a.m. on Friday in the court located in the Municipal Beach of Puerto Cortés that was conditioned with two main courts with bleachers, in addition to one exclusively for training and warming.
