Guatemala warming up for the NORCECA BVB Tour

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, April 28, 2014 -  Guatemala’s organizers are warming up to welcome the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour by staging two consecutive events, the second and third contests of the 2014 tournament to be held in Guatemala City from April 30-May 5 and in Antigua Guatemala from May 7-12.

Since 2007 Guatemala has hosted a stage of the NORCECA Tour, becoming the host country with most number of editions.  In this eighth edition of the tour, the National Federation has engaged the challenge to host an additional event in the historical colonial city of Antigua Guatemala.

To shape up every detail, the organizing committee has celebrated several joint meetings with the commissions appointed to prepare both events in a manageable and efficient way.

Joining the last meeting was Marta Centeno de Sajché, NORCECA Supervisor, who advised all parties to make a check list of their duties.

“Guatemala is an important part of the development of beach volleyball in our Confederation and I am confident both tournaments will be a success,” she said.

The official sponsor for the event in Guatemala is Gatorade and this will be the sixth consecutive year the tournament will be named after the brand. On the occasion of the two stages, Gatorade has arranged several promotion activities, including special appearances of Guatemala’s beach volleyball players.
