Haiti sets the stage for an epic Final 

PARAMARIBO, Suriname, April 3, 2018 - Haiti ensured their second place finish in the preliminary round and a place in tomorrow’s final as they humbled a talented Martinique team in match number eight of the CAZOVA U21 Men Championship currently taking place in Paramaribo, Suriname. Martinique’s first set victory awoke a docile Haiti who took over the game winning the remaining straight sets.

Haiti won the match 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-16 and 25-17) in a one hour and thirty nine minutes battle.

Haiti had more winners, 96 to Martinique’s 79. Haiti also committed more errors, 36 to Martinique’s 34.

Jean Phillipe Bayol of Haiti was the game’s top scorer with 21 points (16 Spikes, 3 Blocks and 2 Aces)

Lohan Lefaivre was Martinique’s top scorer with 14 points (13 Spikes and 1 Ace)

COACH HAITI – Ralph Adolphe said “It was a good game, we were asleep in the beginning but we are happy for another win.”

CAPTAIN HAITI – Joseph Dumay said “We are getting better.”

COACH MARTINIQUE – Theodore Verdan said “Haiti is a good team, we did not play to our potential.”

CAPTAIN MARTINIQUE- Jimmy Mondesir said “Haiti played well.”
