Italy and Dominican Republic playing U20 friendly series

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 6, 2019 – The U20 Women’s National Teams of Italy and Dominican Republic, former winners of the FIVB World Championship, are playing a series of friendly matches in Santo Domingo as both sides warm up ahead of the next world event in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

 

The series started on July 4 and runs until July 9 with Peru also joining the friendly series. The Dominican Republic won the 2015 FIVB World Championship in Puerto Rico while Italy was crowned in 2011 in Peru.

 

Italy and the Dominican Republic are currently ranked 8th and 9th in the world by FIVB in that age-group category and exciting matches are expected from these squads full of young talented players who will ascend to their senior teams in the near future. Peru is ranked 13th.

 

Natalia Martinez, Madeline Guillen, Stephany Gonzalez, Hennessy Lalane, Estefhany Rabbit, Romina Cornelio among others, will represent the Dominican Republic.
