Jamaica won by scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-20 in one hour and eight minutes of game time. Shaver James scored 15 points, while Devounte Bennett registered 11. For Peru, Edilmar Aguirre scored 9 points. Jamaica dominated in blocks 7-3 and capitalized 34 points by error of their South American opponents.

Captain of Jamaica, Jovan Thomas: “I´m very delighted about the victory. We were sticked to the game plan. We came successful. It was a good game.”

Captain of Peru, Konrad Linder: “This has been our worst match in comparison with yesterday’s when we had a better performance. They had a very high block. We could not control our nerves and didn´t know how to play when running-up the score.”

Coach of Jamaica, Steve Davis: “I´m feeling great. I know we can play, but we were in a real tough group with Colombia and Puerto Rico.  My setter today did a good job and we were able to score easier.”

Coach of Peru Edwin Jimenez: “We faced a very tall team. We tried to correct and to make adjustements on the court. We did a lot of things but fell shord. We have to keep working to grow up and develop”.
