Mambru scores 25 in Dominican win over Thailand

BANGKOK, Thailand, July 21, 2017 – Gina Mambru led five players in double figures with 25 points in the 3-2 (17-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-21, 15-7) victory of Dominican Republic over Thailand to start the third week of the FIVB World Grand Prix Group 1.

The Dominican team improved their overall record to 4-3 in the 12-team competition.

Brayelin Martinez had 19 points, including six blocks, and Annerys Vargas added 14 with four blocks. Jineiry Martinez had three blocks among her 12 points while Yonkaira Peña added 10 in the victory.

The Dominicans held advantages of 14-5 in blocking and 59-49 in attacks, while the Thais held a slight margin of 11-10 in aces.

Chatchu-On Moksri had 23 points for Thailand and Ajcharaporn Kongyot finished with 10.
