Girls of Guatemala, Cuba and Puerto Rico enjoy good start in El Salvador


SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, March 27, 2010 – The teams of Guatemala (María Jose Orellana-Lourdes Ramirez), Cuba (Niriam Sinal-Kirenia Ballar) and Puerto Rico (Yarleen Santiago-Dariam Acevedo), started with victories their participation in the second stop of the 2010 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit in El Salvador.

 

Orellana and Ramírez first won against Dominican Republic (Ginnete Selmo/Gina Selmo) 2-0 (21-17 y 21-19), and then defeated the team of El Salvador -3 (Ana Aquino-Frida Larios) 2-0 (21-16, 21-16).

 

Sinal and Ballar won their first match against Samantha Mann and Dania Hamilton of Saint Lucia by score of 21-5 y 21-7, and prevailed in their second contest 2-0 (21-11, 21-12) over the pair of Costa Rica (Betsy Cruz-Suzzane Calderón).

 

The first ranked Puerto Ricans Santiago-Acevedo only had to play one match against the number one team of El Salvador (Yvonne Soler-Laura Molina) winning by score of 21-18, 21-11.
