Marte Hoffiz is virtually re-elected as president of NORCECA

 

   

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, May 2, 2015 – Cristobal Marte Hoffiz is virtually the elected president of NORCECA Confederation for the period 2015-2019.

 

The current president of the continental volleyball governing body was the only presidential candidate whose name was submitted by the national federation members before the expiration of the deadline on April 30 –that is six months before the election congress- to present candidatures to the presidency, board of administration and commissions.

 

The 23rd NORCECA Congress will take place in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic from October 30 to November 1 with FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça Filho confirmed to be among the special guests.

 

Marte Hoffiz was elected president for the first time for the 2001-2005 four-year term, and since then the Dominican Republic’s native has won three consecutive elections unopposed. A total of 33 out of 41 National Federations and Territories have expressed their support to his re-election.

 

Under Marte Hoffiz’s presidency, the NORCECA Confederation has reached levels of excellence in terms of the regular organization of the corresponding competitions and the different regions have received the necessary support for the development of the game in their geographical areas of influence.

 

In the administrative aspect, the growth of NORCECA is tangible with modern offices and a full staff of officials and employees in the different departments like management, finances, secretariat, sport events, beach, volleyball, press, technology, and medical.

 

Punta Cana, the famous tourist resort located in the eastern part of the island Hispaniola, will be the site of the NORCECA for a third time with the two previous held in 2005 and 2011.
