Nicaragua returns to the throne of volleyball U21

PUERTO CORTÉS, Honduras, November 4, 2018 - Denis Lopez and Jefferson Cascante, of Nicaragua, won 2-0 (21-14, 21-19) over Criforth Fallas and Alexandre Lezcano, of Costa Rica, in the final match of the Men's XI Central American Championship U21 Beach Volleyball.

After a comfortable first set, the Nicaraguans were pressured by Fallas / Lezcano, who stayed level up to point 18, but failed in the definition in a couple of attacks.

In the semifinals Lezcano/Fallas won 2-0 (21-19, 22-20) to their compatriots Valenciano/Obando.

In the other semifinal Cascante/Lopez had a great battle against Wagner Chacon/Edgar Maldonado of Guatemala that finished 2-1 (21-15, 28-30, 15-11) in one hour of play in favor of the new monarchs.

Last year in the edition held in Puerto Jimenez, Costa Rica, Guatemala had won its second consecutive title with Chacón and Erick Flores, beating the Nicaraguans Lopez /Cascante, who had lost the final twice.
