Omaha Presents NORCECA Key to City

OMAHA, Nebraska, September 15, 2013 – The Visit Omaha NORCECA Women’s Continental Championship is taking place September 16-21 in Omaha, Nebraska, and the city has become a quick friend to NORCECA.

Visit Omaha, the local convention and visitor’s bureau for the city in Nebraska, presented Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz with a key to the city at a kickoff dinner on Friday by Dana Markel, executive director the Omaha Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.  Volleyball is well followed in the state of Nebraska, and brings in many large tournaments for youth and college events prior to this first venture into international volleyball.

The nine-team NORCECA Women’s Continental Championship will be played at Ralston Arena with preliminary round matches Monday through Wednesday. The playoffs begin on Thursday with the quarterfinals, followed by semifinals on Friday and final classification and medal round matches on Saturday. All matches can be viewed live online at http://www.teamusa.org/USA-Volleyball/Events/Live-Webcast through the USA Volleyball web site.
