Panama defeats Belize in straight sets

 

PANAMA CITY, Panama, July 27, 2016 – Panama defeated Belize in straight sets 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-18) in the last match of the third day at the U23 Men’s Central American Championship for the José “Beto” Remón Cup at the Panamanian capital.

 

The home side only needed 1 hour and 16 minutes to subdue Belize, with the captains of both teams standing out as the best players on the court. For Panama, José González led the attack with 15 points, while for Belize, Bryton Codd once again starred for his team topping all the scorers with 16 points.

 

Panama scored on 26 points caused by unforced errors of Belize, and also the winners were more effective in service winners 9 to 2. In spikes the two teams were fairly closed with 34 for Panama and 33 for Belize.
