Pavan and Humana-Paredes continue success in Vienna

VIENNA, Austria, August 3, 2017 – Canada’s Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson and Heather Bansley advanced to the quarterfinals of the FIVB Women’s Beach Volleyaball on Wednesday.

United States’ April Ross and Lauren Fendick also moved into the final eight teams with compatriots Sarah Hughes and Kim Claes and Summer Ross and Brooke Sweat still to play in the round of 16.

Pavan/Humana-Paredes defeated Switzerland’s Tanja Huberli/Nunca Betschart 2-0 (21-17, 23-21) and Wilkerson/Bansley outdueled Cuba’s Lidy Echeverría/Leila Martínez 2-1 (21-19, 16-21, 17-15).

Ross/Fendick overcame Barbora Hermannova Marketa Slukova of Czech Republic 2-1 (19-21, 23-21, 15-9).

Hughes/Claes were scheduled to meet Germany’s Laura Ludwig/Kira Walkenhorst while Ross/Sweat going against Kristyna Kolocova and Michala Kvapilova of Czech Republic.
