mastered a 3-0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-16) shutout of
the Dominican Republic to claim third place in
the Pool F final standings.
The Polish team will meet Brazil, fourth in Pool
E, in the playoff for the 5-to-8 positions. The
Dominican side will clash against United States,
losers to Netherlands 3-2 (25-15, 25-22, 21-25,
221-25, 15-10) in Rotterdam).
Polish Martina Czyrnianska registered 16 points
as the best scorer for the winners. Flormarie
Heredia finished with 8 points for the Dominican
Republic while Geraldine Gonzalez and Romina
Cornelio each had 7 tallies.
Elles Dambrink led Poland with 27 points
followed by Jolien Knollema with 20. Emily
Londot and Allison Jacobs scored 19 and 13,
respectively, to lead the United States. |
