Ponnet and Smith continue successful run now in La Paz

 

LA PAZ, Mexico, April 20, 2018 - The champions of last week Aguascalientes’ stop, Mackenzie Ponnet and Kimberly Smith of United States, opened their participation with two victories in the beginning of the Norceca Beach Volleyball circuit new date celebrated at the Harbourside Kiosko Beach.

 

Ponnet and Smith began with victory over Stefania Gandolfi and Ileann Powery of Cayman Islands 2-0 by scores of 21-8 and 21-7.

 

In their second match, they won against Amber Bennett and Lisa Jedlicka of US Virgin Islands also in straight sets by 21-13 and 21-12 in Pool D.

 

Mexicans Zaira Orellana and Martha Revuelta, also opened with two wins after beating Paola Alvarado and Maria Fernanda Juarez of Guatemala 2-0 (21-8, 21-16) and Genelle Howell and Brenda Allen Edinborough of Saint Kitts and Nevis also 2-0 (21-11, 21-19).

 

Opening day at the “Kiosko Beach” was a marathon date with more than twelve continuous hours of volleyball. The circuit was officially inaugurated with the presence of local authorities both civilian and military along with a delegations parade that marked the return of the continental circuit to this city for the third time in a row.
