Puerto Rican Federation to host Level I Coaches Course

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, May 9, 2018 – The Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation will host an International Coaches Course Level I from June 27 to July 1.

The course will be the first in the island in more than a decade and will be open to all local coaches who have approved the National Level 3.

The course will be directed by Cuban Jorge Garbey, who coached the women’s national team of Dominican Republic to a gold medal at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo and also had stints as assistant with the Cuban side.

“We have obtained the support of NORCECA to host this course in the island where we expect the registration of many local coaches interested as well as foreign coaches from the region,” said Dr. César Trabanco, president of the Puerto Rican Federation.

“We have had conversations with the NORCECA Regional Development Center to confirm the participation of Garbey,” said Dr. Trabanco.

The cost of registration for the course is US$500 and those interested must confirm their participation before May 15 via e-mail with beltranfpv@gmail.com
