Puerto Rico to start training ahead of Qualifier to Lima
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, November 30, 2018 - The national coach,
José Mieles will have his first meeting with the players
available on the island this Saturday, December 1st, ahead of
the Qualifying Tournament for the Pan American Games 2019.
The meeting and training is scheduled at 9:00 a.m. at the court
of Banco Popular de Cupey, where the headquarters of the Puerto
Rican Volleyball Federation are located.
"We will be meeting with the players who are in the country and
also will have a light practice. After this meeting we will see
the availability to make the adjustment of the following dates
that will be training," Mieles explained.
The players that were called are Karina Ocasio, Shara Venegas,
Valeria León, Neira Ortiz, Sofía M. Victoriá, Adriana Viña,
Diana Reyes, Kanisha Jiménez and Jennifer Quesada.
Mieles will be accompanied by Gerry Batista, Ángel Vélez,
Vimarys Cruz and Roberto Rivera.
The women's team will play in the Qualifying Tournament for the
Pan American Games Lima 2019 which will be held at the Roberto
Clemente Coliseum from January 4 to 6.
