Puerto Rico took part in Beach Volleyball HP Championships

 

HERMOSA BEACH, California, July 23, 2016 – Puerto Rico was represented at the High Performance Beach Volleyball Championships held at Hermosa Beach in Southern California.

 

Playing in the U17 Division, Maria Gonzalez and Allanis Navas finished in fourth place in the girls event, while William Rivera and Ignacio Aldebol ended in fifth place among the boys.

 

Other male teams that took part in the event were Manolín Gómez and Jonnel Rivera in the U19 tournament and Lancy Aldebol/Alex Nieves, Noah Meléndez/Diego López and Gustavo Feliciano/Javier De León in the U17.

 

Cecilia Acosta/Nykoll Barreto and Paola Muñiz/Kelly Negrón played in the U17 competition, while Karely/Carlo/Alahna Díaz, Aolenis García/Alondra Álvarez and Astrid Serra/Daliana Rivera competed in the U19 event.

 

“We are very glad with the overall performance of our teams, it was a week of learning and it helps the growth of the game,” said Arnaldo Sánchez, director of the beach volleyball program of Puerto Rican Federation. “The best teams from USA and teams from Canada and Brazil also took part.”

 

All the Puerto Rican teams received the technical support from national coaches Alexis Feliciano, Angel –Cholo- Peña and Ángel –Jura- Resto.
