Santana selected Female Player of the Year in Puerto Rico

 

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, December 6, 2017 – Daly Santana has been selected y the Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation as the female athlete of the year to be awarded at the Annual Gala of the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee next December 17.

 

Santana is currently completing her second season playing in Europe, and the first in the A-1 League of Italy with Bisonte Firenze.

 

In 2017, the member of the national selection won the title of the France League (first division) becoming the third Puerto Rican to win a championship in Europe. She also played the Pan American Cup (third place), the World Grand Prix (5th place), and NORCECA (2nd Place) where she finished as best scorer.

 

“I really don’t have the words and the only thing that comes to my mind is ‘what a honor’,” Santana said. “It has been a real surprise.”

 

“I feel so happy representing Puerto Rico, my family, my people,” she added. “I am so grateful to the federation, my team, but above all to my fans of Puerto Rico for their support and for being there for me day after day.”
