St. Lucia and Antigua win final matches of Round Robin

 

   

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua/Barbuda, May 15, 2016 - St. Lucia won their first game after three efforts in the ECVA Youth Boys Competition. The match was their final game in round robin competition and they got home in straight sets (25-23, 25-14, and 25-17) over St. Vincent and the Grenadines (team SVG).

 

Antigua /Barbuda on the other got the better of Grenada 3-1 (18-25, 25-22, 25-17 and 25-8) in their final game to remain undefeated.

 

The statistics supported the coach’s assessment in that Levi Leonce had 18 points of the 35 posted by individuals. The next best scorer on the winning team was Joshua Hinkson with 4 points.

 

Overall his team outscored SVG 20-14 in spikes, 7 to 3 in Blocks and held the edge 8 to 7 in Service Aces.

 

The teams contesting the finals (Grenada and Antigua Barbuda) had a little cat and mouse game tinkering with different rotations.

 

Antigua Barbuda had contributions from Cairon Davis (17) and 11 each from Tmar Seaman and Brendan Hopkins. On the other side Jason Hopkins 6 points topped the losers score sheet.
