The battle for the AFECAVOL throne of Senior Men’s Beach Volleyball begins


FARALLON, Panama, November 8, 2018.- Five countries will battle to define a new monarch in the XVIII Central American Senior Men’s Beach Volleyball Championship in the beautiful setting of the Royal Decameron Hotel, in Farallón, Panama.


In the absence of Guatemala, which took the title last year at home, 10 couples from the remaining five countries in the region are ready to take the throne.


Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Belize have two pairs each, while El Salvador and Honduras will have one representative in the tournament that will have two groups of five couples. The first two will qualify to the semifinal where they will play the first of A against the second of B, and the first of B before the second place of A.


Costa Rica with Richard Smith and Ryan Monge looks strong in Group B, which they share with Tato and Pete (Carlos Escobar / David Vargas) from El Salvador, Belize 1 with Jason Cabral/Baydr Sajia, Denis Lopez/Gerson Contreras from Nicaragua, and Panama 2 with Davis Montero/Jason Quintero.


In Group A, Rubén Mora/Dany López for Nicaragua 1, Honduras with Irvin Reyes/Juan Menjivar, Panama 1 will have Miguel González/Elmer Valdez, Costa Rica 2 with Alexandre Lezcano/Sebastián Valenciano and Belize 2 with Luis Luna/Gabriel Núñez.
