USA to play for 5 to 8 positions at U20

CORDOBA AND BOCA DEL RIO – United States lost for third day in a row in Pool F of the FIVB U20 Women’s World Championship this time in five sets to Bulgaria

Monika Krasteva and Elena Becheva scored 25 and 22 points, respectively, in the 3-2 (16-25, 26-24, 19-25, 25-23, 15-12). Leah Edmond and Brionne Butler had 16 and 14 points for United States.

The Americans finished at 0-3 and now will play for the 5 to 8 positions.

In Pool H, Cuba defeated Egypt 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-15). Ailama Cese and Diaris Perez finished with 16 and 12 points, respectively, for the winners. Cuba finished at 1-2 and will play for the 13 to 16 positions.

Also in Pool H, Italy beat Dominican Republic in straight sets 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-22). Italy finished with 3-0 and Dominican Republic with 2-1 and will play for the 9 to 12 positions.

NKemdilin Enweonwu and Elena Petrini had 16 and 12 for the winners. Vielka Peralta and Yanlis Feliz had 15 and 14 points for the Dominican side.

In Pool G, Serbia beat Mexico 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-17). Vanja Bukilic had 20 points for the winners and Kathya Garcia was the best Mexican with 10 of her own. Mexico will play for the 13 to 15 positions.
