Women Semifinals ready in Hato Mayor

HATO MAYOR, Dominican Republic, November 2, 2019 - The semifinalists of the Hato Mayor Beach Volleyball Tournament, ninth stage of the NORCECA Circuit 2019, were defined on Saturday in the sands of Rancho Doña Callita.

In the women's segment, the Cuban Yanisleydis Sánchez and Lidianny Echeverría will be challenged on Sunday morning by Costa Ricans Katherine and Mariela Quesada, while the Americans Corinne Quiggle and Falyn Fonoimoana will clash against the Canadians Megan Nash and Alexandra Poletto.

In the quarterfinals, Sánchez/Echeverría defeated Dominicans Julibeth Payano and Michelle de la Cruz 2-0 (21-16, 21-8) while Quesada/Quesada eliminated Melanie Valenciana and Taylor Nutterfield of the US Virgin Islands 2- 0 (21-17, 21-18).

Meanwhile, Nash/Poletto beat Puerto Ricans María González and Bianca Torres 2-0 (21-14, 21-19) and Quiggle/Fonoimoana beat Nicaraguans Swan Mendoza and Lolette Rodríguez 2-0 (21-14, 21-8).

The semifinals will begin simultaneously at 10 in the morning, and the gold medal match will be at 3 in the afternoon.
