Wonderful venue for Beach Volleyball in Barranquilla

BARRANQUILLA, Colombia, July 26, 2018 - NORCECA President, Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, together with members of the Control Committee, toured the facilities of the Beach Volleyball Tournament of the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla 2018.

Puerta de Oro, Caribbean Events Center, will host the beach volleyball tournament with 20 couples from the same number of participating countries. It has four playgrounds and two warm-up courts, in a place that includes a boardwalk with daily fairs, cultural activities and concerts, on the banks of the Magdalena River, the largest in Colombia.

Marte Hoffiz said: "It is a wonderful stage. I am very satisfied with the facilities. There are also the conditions given so that all the athletes are together, where they will share and live together".

NORCECA President and the NORCECA Competition Director, Ed Drakich, gave the final recommendations to the organizers, and together with the Cuban Mireya Luis of the Control Committee, all them were impressed by the facilities.

The white sand, two main courts with bleachers and ample free zone, area for resting and hydration of athletes, work zones for judges, television and press, medical area provide the best conditions for the public to enjoy a great tournament.

On Friday, the preliminary interviews will be carried out from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by the Technical Meeting where the calendar of games scheduled to begin on Saturday 28 will be defined.
