Buck, the two-time Olympic gold medalist is still in critical condition at UCLA’s hospital after being injured in a biking accident a month ago. He won gold medals in the 1984 in Los Angeles and 1988 in Seoul as part of the USA men’s volleyball team.

Doug Beal, CEO of Volleyball USA, who coached Buck in the 1984 Games, make the petition to the participants in the NORCECA Congress to join the campaign and received immediate support.

Buck was cycling on the road in Hope Ranch when he collided with a pickup truck and suffered serious head and upper body trauma.

His first movement after several weeks sedated was a thumbs-up signal to respond a request from one of the nurses at UCLA Medical Center.

It sparked a social media campaign of friends and volleyball players posting thumbs-up pictures in the Facebook page “Craig Buck, Get Well Soon.”
