More than 50 teachers receive international certificates

 

   

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, May 7, 2016 – The NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Center of Volleyball in the Dominican Republic, closed today the International Seminar for Teachers of Physical Education, led by Spanish FIVB Instructor Francisco Hervas Tirado.

The Physical Education teachers from different districts at a national level received the certificates by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) in an effort of the NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Centre of Volleyball Confederation, the Dominican Volleyball Federation (FEDOVOLI) and the official sponsor of the seminar All Sport Marketing Company.

Fifty-four teachers, including 13 female, completed the seminar that lasted 4 days of an extensive work program.

The event was attended by Luis Mejia Oviedo, Dominican Olympic Committee President, Tony Mesa, Technical Director of the Dominican Olympic Committee, Angel Rivas, Technical Vice President of the Dominican Volleyball Federation and Nelson José Ramirez director of the NORCECA/FIVB Volleyball Development Center.

Mejia Oviedo expressed his joy at the celebration of this important course because it ensures our children are getting good training and developing the sports in the schools and told participants teachers to continue with further training as education and sport are one of the main tools for the development of our future athletes.

Rivas thanked the Development Center and its Director Ramirez for always considering that Physical Education teachers are trained so the knowledge acquired to be applied in our schools.

The instructor Francisco Hervas expressed his satisfaction for having directed this course.

 “I take with me the best experience from each of the teachers and I feel proud of directing the course since volleyball is my passion and what better way to demonstrate it than teaching the future coaches,” he said.
