St. Kitts & Nevis win Women’s Group D
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, July 28, 2012 - Team St. Kitts & Nevis
kept a perfect record throughout the entire 2014 FIVB world
championship qualification women Round I Group D when they
disposed of Anguilla 3-0 (25-11, 25-18 and 25-11) in the finals
to top the group. Coach Steadroy Collins summarized that it was
a total team effort that worked in his favour.

Bermuda grabs third place over St. Maarten
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, July 28, 2012 – Victory in three straight
sets(25-20, 25 -8 and 25-20) gave Bermuda third place over St.
Maarten in the play off stage of the 2014 FIVB world
championship qualification women Round I Group D. Briana Scott
of Bermuda and Captain Lathasha Mills of St. Maarten both had 10
points.

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, July 28, 2012 – Team Anguilla qualified
to play for the top position when they defeated St. Maarten in
straight t sets (26-24, 25-17 and 25-21) in the final
preliminary game of the 2014 FIVB world championship
qualification women Round I Group D.

cruised to straight sets victories (25- 15; 25 17 and 25 -21)
over Bermuda in match number 5 of 2014 FIVB world championship
qualification women Round I Group D. Shanicia Dyer of St. Kitts
/Nevis had another superb performance with 11 spikes, 8 blocks
and 2 service winners to end with a grand total of 21 points.

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts July 27th 2012 - Team St. Kitts & Nevis
pulled off a convincing victory over Anguilla in three sets (25-
18; 25 -19; 25 -12) to close day 1 of the 2014 FIVB world
championship qualification women Round I Group D. Veteran Brenda
Allen Edinborough had a sterling performance in all departments
to lead the team to victory with 20 points.

Bermuda outlasts St. Maarten for first victory
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, July 27, 2012 – Bermuda won in straight
sets (25-22, 25 21, 25-20) over St. Maarten in game 3 of the
2014 FIVB World Championship qualification women Round I Group
D. The three sets were similar in pattern as Bermuda enjoyed an
early lead while St. Maarten worked their way back midway
through the game only to lose in the end. The second game was
particularly close as St. Maarten, who trailed 1-6, rallied to
lead at 18 -17.

Anguilla Tops Bermuda in second match
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, July 27, 2012 - Anguilla persevered over
Bermuda in three sets (25 -21, 25-16, 25-18) in game 2 of the
2014 FIVB World Championship Qualification Women’s Round I Group
D. The game was not as easy as the score suggests as Anguilla
was really made to work. In fact in the first set Bermuda had a
four-point lead (20-16).

– 9; 25- 16; 25 -19). Team St. Kitts & Nevis was led by Brenda

Confidence and anxiety run high on the eve of Qualifier
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, July 26, 2012 – The majority of the teams
participating in 2014 FIVB world championship qualification
women Round I Group D exuded an air of confidence on the eve of
the tournament. Coach Steadroy Collins of team St. Kitts/Nevis
averred that they would deliver on a promise to win the group.
“The ladies are confident I wouldn’t say super confident but
very confident that we can win this tournament. Instead of
training the team had a special gathering and I was able to
judge their state of readiness, so I think we will are ready
both mentally and physically”, he said.
