USA’s Patrick Rogers Named MVP of the 2026 Men’s Pan American Cup

MORELOS, Mexico, August 16, 2026.- Outside hitter Patrick Rogers of the United States was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2026 Men’s Pan American Cup, highlighting the individual awards presented following the conclusion of the competition held in Morelos from August 9-16. Rogers, who helped the United States capture the gold medal, also received the award for Second Best Spiker. The United States collected four individual honors. In addition to Rogers’ two recognitions, Parker Tomkinson was named First Best Blocker and Michael Wright received the Best Setter award. United States Wins 2026 Men’s Pan American Cup

MORELOS, Mexico, August 16, 2026.- The United States were crowned champions of the 19th Men’s Pan American Cup after defeating Puerto Rico 3-1 (22-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-19) on Sunday at Poliforum 2 of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (UAEM). The United States finished the competition with a 6-1 record and captured their sixth gold medal in Men’s Pan American Cup history, ending a 14-year wait since their last title in 2012. The Americans also have three silver medals and one bronze. It was USA’s second victory over Puerto Rico in the tournament after defeating them in straight sets during the preliminary round. Canada Wins Second Consecutive Pan American Cup Bronze Medal

MORELOS, Mexico, August 16, 2026.- Canada bounced back from its semifinal loss to defeat Mexico 3-1 (28-26, 25-18, 20-25, 25-23) and win its second consecutive bronze medal at the 2026 Men’s Pan American Cup on Sunday in Morelos. Canada finished the competition with a 5-1 record and won the bronze medal for the second straight year. In the previous edition, Canada also placed third after defeating Colombia. Mexico finished fourth with a 3-3 record. After prevailing in a tight first set 28-26, Canada took control of the second 25-18. Dominican Republic Defeats Cuba Again in Five Sets to Finish Fifth

MORELOS, Mexico, August 16, 2026.- The Dominican Republic closed out the 19th Men’s Pan American Cup with another five-set victory over Cuba, winning 3-2 (23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 26-28, 18-16) to finish in fifth place on Sunday in Morelos. The Dominicans finished the competition with a 4-2 record, while Cuba, at 3-3, placed sixth. It was the second five-set battle between the two teams in the tournament, and once again the Dominican Republic came out on top. USA Defeats Mexico in Straight Sets and Advances to Pan American Cup Final

MORELOS, Mexico, August 15, 2026.- The United States advanced to the final of the 2026 Men’s Pan American Cup after defeating host Mexico 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-16) in the semifinals on Saturday at Poliforum 2 of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (UAEM). The United States will face Puerto Rico for the gold medal, while Mexico will play Canada for the bronze medal. Team USA, the most successful team in Men’s Pan American Cup history with five titles, will play for the gold medal for the ninth time. In addition to its five championships, the United States has three silver medals and one bronze. Its most recent title came in 2012. Puerto Rico Goes for First Pan American Cup Title after Defeating Canada

Guatemala Beats Costa Rica for Seventh Place

MORELOS, Mexico, August 15, 2026.- Guatemala finished seventh at the 2026 Men’s Pan American Cup after defeating Costa Rica 3-1 (26-24, 23-25, 25-20, 25-22) in the Central American matchup played Saturday at Poliforum 2 of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (UAEM). Guatemala closed its participation with a 4-2 record, while Costa Rica finished 2-4. Guatemala took a tight first set 26-24 before Costa Rica evened the match by winning the second 25-23. The Guatemalans regained control with a 25-20 win in the third and closed out a hard-fought fourth set 25-22 to secure seventh place. Curaçao Takes Ninth Place in Five Sets over Trinidad and Tobago

MORELOS, Mexico, August 15, 2026.- Curaçao took ninth place at the nineteenth edition of the Men’s Pan American Cup after defeating Trinidad and Tobago in five sets 3-2 (25-20, 20-25, 25-19, 19-25, 15-12) on Saturday in Morelos. The match was a roller coaster, with the teams trading control of the sets until reaching the tie-break. Curaçao took the lead in the fifth set, and a powerful spike by Marlison Kleinmoedig put them at match point. Trinidad and Tobago extended the match with a back-row attack by Michael Burkett before a service error sealed the victory for Curaçao. Cuba Survives Guatemala in Five Sets at Men’s Pan American Cup

MORELOS, Mexico, August 12, 2026.- Cuba survived three match points by Guatemala in a dramatic tie-break to prevail 3-2 (25-23, 20-25, 28-30, 25-15, 19-17) on Wednesday at the 2026 Men’s Pan American Cup, being held at Poliforum 2 of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (UAEM). Cuba improved its record to 2-1 in Pool B, while Guatemala dropped to 1-2. The 30-28 third set and the 19-17 fifth set were the longest sets played so far in the tournament. To close out pool play, Cuba (2-1) will face undefeated Mexico (3-0), while Guatemala (1-2) will play a decisive match against the Dominican Republic (2-1), with the final Pool B standings still to be determined. Canada bounced back after dropping the opening set to earn its second victory of the tournament. On day three of competition, Canada will face Costa Rica, while Puerto Rico will take on the United States. Canada’s 19-5 advantage in blocks proved to be the difference in the match. The Canadians also led in kills 40-34 and aces 7-3, while conceding 34 points from errors compared to Puerto Rico’s 29. Daniil Hershtynovich led Canada with 17 points, followed by Trent Cherewaty with 13, Kaden Schmidt with 12 and Erik Siksna with 10. The host team earned its first victory in Pool B, in a match in which it gradually increased its dominance as the sets progressed. Curaçao had a good start and took the lead in the first set. The score remained close for much of the set, with both teams trading control, until Mexico managed to pull away down the stretch. After being tied 10-10, Mexico took a slight advantage and, although Curaçao stayed close at 22-20, the home side closed out the set 25-22. Mexico found greater stability in the second set. After an even start, it pulled ahead 12-6 and maintained control of the score. USA responded to tie the score at 19, and from there the teams engaged in a tight battle, eventually reaching a 24-24 tie.
