Cala Haffner of the United States Named MVP of the NORCECA Girls’ U19 Continental Championship

SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica, July 24, 2026. – Cala Haffner of the United States was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2026 NORCECA Girls’ U19 Continental Championship, which concluded with the U.S. team capturing the title with an undefeated campaign. In addition to the MVP award, the United States earned three more individual honors. Ireland Real was named First Best Spiker, Joselyn Samuels received the Best Server award, and Haffner also earned recognition as Best Receiver. Mexico placed three players among the tournament's individual award winners. Alejandra González was named Best Scorer, while Isabella Gallardo and Brenda Esquivel received the First Best Blocker and Second Best Blocker awards, respectively. More  Español

USA Win Third Straight NORCECA Girls’ U19 Continental Title with Perfect Campaign

SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica, July 24, 2026. – The United States captured the 2026 NORCECA Girls’ U19 Continental Championship title with a perfect campaign after defeating Canada in straight sets 3-0 (25-7, 25-16, 25-20) in Saturday's gold medal match at the Gimnasio Nacional in San José. Both teams entered the championship match unbeaten, but the Americans took control from the outset to complete a flawless tournament without dropping a single set. With the victory, the United States claimed its third consecutive NORCECA Girls’ U19 Continental Championship title after also defeating Canada in the 2018 and 2024 finals. SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica, July 24, 2026. – The Dominican Republic defeated Costa Rica in straight sets 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-13) to claim fifth place at the NORCECA Girls’ U19 Continental Championship. The Dominican team set the pace from the opening set with solid play in every aspect of the game. Although Costa Rica rallied in the second set and tied the score at 17-17, the Dominican Republic responded with a decisive run to regain control and move closer to victory. They once again imposed their superiority in the third set to close out the match comfortably. Canada Advance to the NORCECA Girls' U19 Final

SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica, July 23, 2026. – Canada secured its place in the final of the NORCECA Girls' U19 Continental Championship with a straight-set 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-18) victory over a determined Mexico team and will face the United States for the continental title. SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica, July 22, 2026. – Mexico secured its place at the 2027 FIVB Girls' U19 World Championship and advanced to the semifinals of the NORCECA Girls' U19 Continental Championship after defeating the Dominican Republic in a thrilling five-set battle, 3-2 (25-15, 21-25, 25-16, 18-25, 15-9). Mexico showed greater composure in the decisive moments of a match in which both teams alternated control throughout. The Mexicans claimed the first and third sets convincingly, while the Dominican Republic answered by taking the second and fourth to force a deciding fifth set. The tiebreak remained even until 6-6. Mexico had to work hard to take a closely contested opening set, as the U.S. Virgin Islands kept the score tight until the final stretch. From the second set onward, Mexico took control behind a solid blocking performance and more effective serving, imposing its rhythm to secure the victory without further difficulty. Mexico built its win with strong performances in blocking (14-11) and serving (8-3).
